Wakatobi, A Joyful Paradise Tourist Destination in Indonesia

Wakatobi, when hearing that name that comes to mind is surely an underwater paradise full of coral reefs and beautiful fishes that swim in between the coral. You are not wrong, Wakatobi is famous as a tourist destination famous for its natural beauty under the sea. Therefore, this place is famous among tourists as the best destination for diving and snorkeling. As a national marine park owned by Indonesia, its biodiversity is well maintained. In Wakatobi, there are more than 750 of the 842 species of coral reefs in the world, or about 90% of the coral species are here.
Wakatobi National Park is located in Wakatobi District, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Inside the Country Map of Indonesia, Wakatobi is at the bottom of Sulawesi Island. In 2012, UNESCO establishes Wakatobi as one of the Biosphere Reserve in Indonesia. The name Wakatobi comes from the names of the four major islands, namely Wangi-Wangi (WA), kaledupa (KA), Tomia (TO), and Binongko (BI).

Tomia
In the waters around Tomia Island there are six main diving points, namely Sombu, Cape Kapota, Kapota Lake, Wandoka Pinnacle, Kampung and Waha Ropes.
In Sombu waters, when you dive about five meters, you can encounter about 64% of coral, which is dominated by hard coral. The average depth is 20 meters with a maximum depth of water is about 40 meters, and has a visibility of about 20 meters. In this place, diving can be done by novice divers though.
In Tanjung Kapota, the wealth of coral reefs reaches 86%, which is dominated by hard corals. The average depth in this place is about 30 meters with a maximum depth of about 50 meters, and has a visibility under the water about 15 meters. At this diving point, dives should be done by experienced divers.
At Wandoka Pinnacle, the average water depth is about 15 meters, with the deepest point of about 40 meters, the visibility in the water is about 20 meters. This place has strong water currents, so dives are recommended by experienced divers.
Hoga Island (Kaledupa Resort)
In the Kaledupa area, this place has many dive spots to choose from. There are more than 20 dive sites with classifications 1 and 2. There are three more famous places, namely Buoy, Coral Garden and Outer Pinncale.
Coral Garden, is one of the diving points that you must visit while on the island of Hoga. In this place you can find colorful corals and diversity of marine animals, such as jack fish, butterfly, cardinal fish, stingrays, turtles and much more. The average water depth is 17 meters deep with maximum water depth is about 25 meters, with visibility of about 20 meters. In this place, diving can be done by beginner divers.
At Buoy and at Outer Pinnacle, the average water depth is 17 meters deep with a maximum depth of 25 meters. Beginner divers can dive at both of these diving points.
Tomia Island
Tomia Island has a distance of about four hours by boat from Wangi-Wangi City, which is the capital of Wakatobi. Tomia has about 28 diving points that you can choose with your heart. In this place, most diving points are safe for all divers groups. The four main diving points are Magnificia, Tanjung Lintea, Trailbalzer, and Zoo. The average water depth is about 16-18 meters, with maximum depth being 30 meters deep.
Binongko
In this place there are several diving places suitable for you, namely Cowo, Fish Wall, Great Cave Wall and Koko Reef.

How to Get to Wakatobi
To get to Wakatobi, a joyful paradise tourist destination in Indonesia, you can choose between events that are available, either by sea or by air.
Airway
The air route is a shorter way to get to Wakatobi. Currently available aircraft from Makassar to Wakatobi route is served by small aircraft with a capacity of about 30 passengers. For foreign tourists, you can board the plane from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta and get off at Makassar. After that the journey continues with a small plane. If you want to save a little, choose the same airline that serves flights from Jakarta to Makassar and from Makassar to Wakatobi. The cost of using the same fleet is approximately two million rupiah.
Sea
The journey by sea is done by Ferry boat. From Makassar to Wangi-Wangi City, the capital city of Wakatobi, can be reached for approximately 10 hours journey. If the weather is bad and the waves are high, then this ferry boat is not operating.
Accommodation in Wakatobi
After arriving in Wakatobi, there are several alternative places to stay for the tourists. For those of you who want a little frugality, can choose to stay at home citizens (homestay) at a rate of about fifty thousand indonesian rupiah per night. You can also choose to stay in a regular hotel, at a rate of about two hundred thousand rupiah up to three hundred thousand rupiah.
